Eebee, The Crusader For Peace
This is a photo taken on a February 2012 short vacation to Lebanon. While watching television here in the United States, I heard that tourism to Lebanon was down due to the current situation in Syria. I had always wanted to visit Beirut and thought I would do my little part in helping the Lebanese tourism industry. I am really glad I did.
It was an interesting experience to see how reality didn't match the perception that I had beforehand. Beirut and the places I visited around the country were safe and secure. There is a lot of new construction in Beirut which is great for a country that at one point was war zone. The people were very friendly. And the scenery was excellent. I hope to go back again at some point in the next year to see the rest of this great place.
I chose this photo because of the iconic nature of the Crusader Sea Castle in photos of Lebanon. Eebee has been traveling around the world with me for the past couple of years. He has been to North Korea, Egypt twice and a few other places. When I visited Sidon, I couldn't resist taking his photo.
