It was a couple of years ago when we had this really big snowstorm. We had a carport that collapsed from the weight of the snow, we had to shovel a path just to get out onto my deck. Everything was so beautiful and was so fresh and clean. It was still snowing when I decided to trek out and see our neighborhood. I thought, hmmm, let me take my camera just in case. I started shooting some pictures as I was walking around. We had so much snow that all the streets were empty, hardly anyone around. There were a few people trying to shovel or snow blow their way out. I remember how crisp and fresh everything smelled and the pure white snow was breathtaking. As much as I dislike the cold, that day was just beautiful. I come around to the street behind my house and saw this beautiful tree. I knew it was a magnolia tree because I remembered seeing the gorgeous flowers in the spring. I pulled out my camera, took off the lens cap and starting shooting. I must have taken at least 50 shots of this one particular tree, then all of a sudden, there it was - the perfect shot. I knew it right away. All I kept thinking was wow, thank you Lord for the beauty that you gave me, for the ability to just feel and see your creation, frozen in time for just that moment. I think this is one of the best photos I have taken. I went to get this developed and when I did, I could hardly believe my eyes. It actually looked like there were white flowers all over the tree, the snow was falling, the shadows were perfect, everything was just breathtaking about this photograph, so here it is my Winter Magnolia photo for all to see. Enjoy!
