For Bird Lover's Only
The last few weeks of winter are always the hardest for me. Just before daffodils and crocus start popping through the ground, the woods are barren and only silhouettes against the sky. At times in the distance a bright red Cardinal will catch my eye, or a feisty Blue Jay will be chasing off the other birds to feed at the feeder. Woodpeckers, Chickadee's, Sparrows Titmice, Finch, Junco's are but a few that visit daily. The bare forest allows me to watch, photograph and enjoy all the wildlife that I can not see in the green and thick foliage of summer.
Yesterday I sat up a short tripod on my kitchen counter, opened the window just to see what I could capture using the video on my digital camera.
I am looking forward to spring and gardening but I will miss the open woods and watching all the critters.
