    Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon 2013 swim start

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     docbrock521 competed in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon yesterday, where one man died during the swim portion. docbrock521 was wearing a waterproof GoPro camera strapped to his chest and filmed the start of the swim. 'I wasn't aware of anything going wrong on the swim but I do remember hearing lots of sirens later in the race. I believe that was the first fatality they have ever had at the race. A lot of people seemed to be having trouble on the swim,' he said. As for docbrock521, he said his swim went well despite rough waters. His trial came during the bike portion when his chain snapped three miles into the race.

    San Francisco Bay was really rough for the start of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.
