    Waiting for the upcoming season

It's still cold enough to snow here in Japan though, we are quite ready to appreciate the pale pink cherry flowers - Sakura. Actually the flower blooms later, from the end of March to very beginning of April, and we can enjoy it only for a week or two.
But we've celebrated the season with both traditional and modern sweet treats. Here I show you; Sakura Mochi - sticky rice ball with red bean filling wrapped with salty leaf and Sakura donuts, from major donut shop chain Mr. Donuts' seasonal menu.
Both are fabulously pink colored and Sakura flower flavored.
Fresh strawberry covered by rice dumpling (in the 2nd photo) also adds a spring taste!
You can find more Sakura treats everywhere in Japan right now.
