Cherries with vanilla ice-cream
Cherries are so sinful! What to do with a beautiful bowl of cherries and a stash of vanilla beans on a hot summer day? If you manage to rescue the cherries before the boys eat them all, you can make vanilla ice cream and add fresh cherries. This recipe makes classic vanilla ice cream with a slight undertone of almond and dotted throughout with fresh cherry pieces.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons cherries, 4 scoops vanilla ice cream, 14 tablespoons butter, 9 tablespoons sugar, 2 spoons Maraschino cherry liqueur, 2 spoons Kirsch fruit brandy, 3 spoons raspberry juice, 1 spoon grilled onions, mint leaves
Preparation Instructions
Melt butter in a pan. Add sugar. When sugar dissolves, add the cherries and flambé with the Maraschino and Kirsch. Sprinkle with raspberry juice. Pour the whole over a scoop vanilla ice cream. Place the grilled almonds and a mint leaf on top.
