    Tap and Sap

This weekend in Stamford, Connecticut there was a Maple Sugar festival at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center. The city of Stamford, is an hour NE from NYC.

There were Maple trees everywhere, with buckets attached to them for the trees' sap to drip slowly into them. A tap had been inserted into each tree beforehand to allow the sap to flow.

Maple sugar demonstrations were plentiful & fun to watch. Tasting the Maple sugar before it was completed into Maple Syrup was delicious & warm. The end product was celebrated with a Pancake Brunch at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center.

I can happily sum my visit up in one word ... YUM!!
