Animal abuse in Crete island , Greece
I am writing this report το publicize and let the world know about the size of animal abuse which takes place in daily basis in the island of Crete, one of the Greece's most selected tourist destination for summer holidays.
I will introduce myself, as an angry citizen who can't stand the indifference of the Greek state and its people, as well as the lack of laws, against a problem which became a habit for the majority of greeks.
The triggering event was the murder in cold blood, by shooting in the face, of 2 stray dogs just for fun, which took place today 4/3/2013 in Rodia, a village and a community of Gazi municipal unit in Heraklion regional unit on the island of Crete, Greece.
This is not the first time that something cruel like this happens in this island. People kill animals for fun there and for spending their free time. No state law can prosecute them, because Crete obeys only in its own rules and laws of violence. Apart from the fact that everyone, from the elderly to the juvenile, is carrying a weapon illegaly, they use it for no reason and with no consequences at all. An easy target to practice themselves? Stray animals.
This is a reality in our so-called democratic european country, a reality which should become familiar to the public and especially to the people of the world who are intending to visit Crete this summer.
'Live you Myth'' in Greece???????
Think again by looking the following photos.
The world should know and action should be taken.
Today are the animals, tomorrow would be the humans.
