Relief workers move in after twin bomb blast in Abbas town, Karachi

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Freelance photojournalist KazmiSahib captured these shocking images of the aftermath of a deadly bomb blast in Karachi, Pakistan that left more than 40 dead. The attack apparently targeted members of the country's Shiite Muslim community who live in the area, but our iReporter says the attack has affected all who live in the city. "It is not only a matter for Shiite Muslims, Sunni Muslims are also martyred in this event," he said. "People feel that administration failed to provide them security."

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, a Sunni militant group known for its virulent hatred of Shiite Muslims, claimed responsibility for the two attacks.
Karachi shut down on Monday for a day of mourning to honour the dead. Markets, gas stations and transportation were closed as security officials patrolled the streets. At the site of the blast, family and friends looked through the rubble for family members missing since the explosion.
