Bitter pill: The cost of health care in the U.S.

Not so much who pays or how much one pays but why pay for what could be avoided

My story is a 40 year effort to gain attention for a philosophy that would reduce the need for using a bloated, exploitative and dysfunctional medical system. I have promoted living so as to stay well for over 40 years, since publication of my book "High Level Wellness: An Alternative to Doctors, Drugs and Disease" by Rodale Press in 1977.

Modern medicine is a wonderful thing but there are two problems: people expect too much of it and too little of themselves.
