    Government waste - portraits

Ok, I get that it is nice to have some portraits done of maybe the president, first lady and maybe the VP and his wife, but the rest can pay for theirs themselves. There was a time when we had no cameras and oil paintings were the only pictures to see, but people - those days are long gone. I saw a guy go to a chain store and get a really nice picture done on canvas for about 100 bucks. The government has already spent about $180,000 on them since last year alone. Secretary Tom Vilsack was approached about the cost of his at $22,000 and he said he had bigger spending issues to look at and this issue was like nothing. Well some people don't make that in a whole year and they help pay the taxes that fund this crap. What if each person said they would recycle because it is only one bottle? Somebody should step up and shut down the paint operation NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
