    Menacing Seas on Long Beach Island NJ

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     BenVonK told me, 'Right now I'm seeing loose debris and sand whipping around the streets of this beach community that was closed for a number of weeks following Sandy. As the winds intensified on Long Beach Island this afternoon, stop signs could be seen flapping in the wind, with traffic lights swaying in the gusts. Winter storms have been known to damage our beaches as much or more than hurricanes so I'm fairly concerned about what this storm will do to our shoreline.'

    Intense winds and rough seas hit Holgate, NJ on Long Beach Island on Wednesday (~2:45pm). Holgate lost multiple homes during Superstorm Sandy.
