Honors the memory of Hugo Chavez in Paris

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Ukrainian photographer Batareykin witnessed a poignant vigil in honor of the late Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, in Paris Wednesday. Rather appropriately, it was held by a statue of the famed revolutionary Simon Bolivar, whom Chavez admired greatly. "I see the death of Hugo Chavez as a huge loss, not only for Venezuela, but for all the world," our iReporter reflected. "There are not many presidents who are held in [such] reverence by their people." Chavez, who died of cancer this week, is to be buried in a state funeral in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, on Friday.

March 6 in Paris, near the monument of Simon Bolivar, the Venezuelan diaspora gathered to honor the memory and history of the government of President Hugo Chavez.
