Heat Treatment and Surface Coating Specialist Announces Management Changes
Senior management changes have been announced by Wallwork Heat Treatment, the metal surface engineering specialist. Manchester site director Richard Burslem is to step down from the board ahead of his retirement but will continue to work part time with the company. Richard’s role will become the responsibility of production director Ian Griffin. Carole Chettoe is to join the senior management team as company secretary. Sales and marketing director, Simeon Collins, will take on the additional role as site director for the Tecvac subsidiary in Cambridge. Mike Allen will continue as site director for Wallwork Heat Treatment in Birmingham working alongside fellow director Tim Pelari.
Commenting on his new role Richard said, “I have been a director for Wallwork Heat Treatment for 23 years and worked for the company for almost 35. I now feel that it is right to look for a better work and life balance. I will continue on a part time basis, working with our technical director Peter Carpenter on several development projects. I am happy to make a continuing contribution to the business and ensure continuity as I step back from a front line role.”
Group chairman Hamish Wallwork added, “Richard has made a significant contribution to the business at a time when we have seen growth through investment and technical innovation. We are pleased to have made a succession arrangement that retains his skills and experience as we enter out next phase of development.”
The Wallwork group provides comprehensive metal heat treatment and surface coating services to aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, medical and general engineering clients. In addition to a well-established foundry and producing heat resistant castings, the company undertakes world class research with leading universities and manufacturers. The company also engineers bespoke vacuum equipment for the application of advanced metal coatings.
