    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     klodnicki told me, 'There is flooding from the Pamlico Sound which has over washed our road and NC Route 12. Our house is on stilts so we are good. Some vehicles now trapped in high water we can observe from the house. People are hunkered down in their houses. People here are no strangers to extreme weather. Hoping that NC 12 is not damaged to the extent that it isolates Hatteras Island from the mainland.'
