    The Spirit

    While Travelling to the remote mountainous area of Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, this school is the first one encountered after crossing the Zojilla pass from the kashmir valley. The location is Pandrass a place located at about 11000 feet above sea level and is isolated from the rest of the world for about eight months every year. This photo was taken from a travelling vehicle but amazed me at the spirit of the slogan writers in this remote part of the world where education is hard to accquire because of harsh weather conditions . The temperature dips upto minus 45 degree centigrade in winter and it is one of the coldest inhabited places on earth.
