Fashionista Therapy Dog Donates Fashion Prizes to North Shore Animal League

BY JOHN SCANDALIOS - March 7, 2013 - Port Washington, NY - Bella Mia, a therapy and service dog, donated the prizes she won at a Fashion Show to the North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington, New York. The fashion show prizes were won by this 2-year old Maltese, fluffy bundle of joy at the 5th Annual New York Pet Fashion Show held on February 8, 2013 at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City. Bella Mia won "NYPFS Best Dressed in Show 2013".

The prizes donated included a brand new doggie tread mill which the North Shore Animal League's Communications Manager, Lindsey Calabrese, said would be made good use of in the cold weather as the animal shelter previously had just one aging doggie tread mill. The North Shore Animal League America is the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. The organization's mission is, "To build our hands-on rescue, rehabilitation and adoption efforts to save the lives of as many companion animals as possible - one at a time - and promote education to increase shelter adoptions, reduce animal cruelty and advance the highest standards in animal welfare.". The organization, which was founded in 1944. has saved, to date, over one million lives of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Bella Mia, a 2012 graduate of The Good Dog Foundation, was stylishly dressed and accompanied to the animal shelter by her proud Mommie and Daddy, Roseann and Walter Bolasny of Little Neck, NY. Bella Mia looks forward to continuing to spread cheer by visiting hospitals and senior living centers with an occasional charity fashion show thrown in for some fashionista fun.
