ND Hwy 85 Nations Deadliest Road?
Dear Mr. Governor and Members of Legislative Body of ND,
How many of our children and families are to suffer from fatal accidents in and around the Bakken Oilfields. Last year according to The Dickinson Press 169 fatalities in the North West part of the state. I feel that the state is solely responsible for not putting in a divided highway which though more monetarily expensive runs a lower cost in human life. March 5th 2013 marks a sad day for the residents of Watford City were informed of two teenage kids dying and a third being in critical condition in Trinity Hospital in Minot. This is a article dated March 6th 2013 “Around 1 p.m. Fenton H. Matthew, 17 was driving a 2001 Subaru Forester with passengers Hank D. Allen, 17, and Austin L. McCaulley, 18, all of Watford City, westbound on Highway 85 in the passing lane when the car hit a patch of slush. The car rotated counterclockwise into the eastbound lane and was struck by a 2005 Peterbilt driven by Jerry W. Bottoms of Fairfield, Texas, on the passenger side, splitting the vehicle in half.” . Do state plows not operate during winter weather, not here in Watford City they don't. In my traveling to different states I have noticed plows out and operating in the worst blizzards unless roads are closed. Get them out there its winter, if plows are not out for any reason and accidents occur then you as the governing body of ND are held responsible for not doing whats necessary to ensure public safety. I am calling every one of you out to right this terrible wrongdoing lets keep our friends and families alive.
