This emaciated dog was found TODAY (09/03/13) in Néa Smírni, by a coffee house ‘Skipper’s’ in Alimos Marina. The dog we understand is chained up to guard a property they believe is used to sell / hire boats during the tourist season, however the property appears to be empty at present. Inside they described the conditions as a ‘prison’ for the dog.

The dog is chained to the leg of a table which is not long enough to reach inside the kennel which leaves the dog having to sleep under the board placed on top of the table. There is a bucket and bowl but the photographer was not close enough to see if they contained food or water. The dog is clearly malnourished you can see it’s ribs. The condition of this dog and being constantly chained is illegal under Greek animal welfare law 4039/12.
