The uncertainty behind the rigging of presidential elections in Kenya

The autonomous Raila odinga has promised to go to court to challenge the IEBC presidential results.    On 9 th  March 4:20 PM GMT+3 while addressing the press, Raila Odinga said that he does not recognize the presidential results. His concern about unfair election lies on the failure of the electronic voting machines that were to be used for the voting process and tampered figures of registered voters.

Kenya had spent billions of money in acquiring high technology tools from Canada to help in conducting a fair election but it turned out to be a waste of money. The particular part of the entire system that could not work in most regions is the finger print scanner or detector which made the voting process embark to the manual system of voting. An interviewed voting clerk who did not want his name to be exposed revealed that the machines which were used for the testing process functioned properly and therefore he did not understand why they failed during the material day.

After the 2007 post-election violence, Judge Johann Kriegler  advised Kenya that in order for it to have a  free and fair election  it should use the electronic system of voting.I EBC has not yet given a clear report to explain why the voting machines failed.
