Meatballs with Milk Gravy
Meatballs are a good side dish and can be used as an appetizer if served dry.
Ingredients
14 oz. ground beef, lean
1/4 green bell pepper - minced
1 onion - minced
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup yogurt, non-fat
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup milk, skimmed
1 teaspoon beef bouillon
2 tablespoons sherry
2 tablespoons flour, all-purpose
Preparation Instructions
In a bowl mix beef, vegetables, breadcrumbs, yogurt, thyme and Worcestershire sauce. Shape into small round meatballs.
Place them in a greased saucepan. Cook over medium heat, until golden brown, turning them as they cook. When done remove from saucepan and set aside.
Boil milk and add sherry. Stir in bouillon and flour. To this add meatballs and allow the gravy to thicken.
Serve with hot rice or noodles.
