    Covert killings of Jamaat-e-Islami

The younger brother of Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, renowned singer, freedom fighter and 14th witness against Ghulam Azam, the mastermind planner of genocide happened in Bangladesh during 1971, was found dead near Khilkhet over bridge in the city early Sunday.

The deceased Miraz Uddin Ahmed, 52, was unmarried and used to stay with his elder sister in city’s Mirpur area.

Khilkhet thana OC Omar Faruk said, “On information, police rushed in and recovered the body along with mobile phone, money bag and some medicines at about 4am. Police was informed about the matter at about 12am, but due to some legal reasons we recovered it later.”

Later, police informed the family members about the matter.

Khilkhet thana OC Shamim Hasan said, “No injury marks has been found on his body in initial investigation. However, police noticed blood inside his nose. The reason behind the death will be known after autopsy.”

On the other hand, family members claimed that he might have been killed as he is the brother of Imtiaz Bulbul, a witness against Ghulam Azam.

Hearing the news, Imtiaz Bulbul started crying and requested police to hand over the body with family members without autopsy.

However, Dhaka Medical College Forensic Division Lecturer Sohel Mahmud conducted Miraz’s autopsy as per administration’s order.

Sohel Mahmud told the journalists, “According to the primary findings, we are suspecting that he was suffocated to death. His liver, kidneys and stomach were kept for viscera test.”
