Work and family: Making it work
Every family has own specific characteristic. Single mother or farther with a child or children, family without children, or large family living with parents and/or with many children. Even thought the family is a family no matter what, family is the priority then work. You can find work anywhere and anytime, but you cannot find real family. In Mongolia, there is a proverb that "One person never become a family and one wood never burns in the stove". Connection with it, Mongolian "ger" (yurt) sets up a warm family environment. Center point you place stove, upper area become living room, right side is a kitchen, in the left side children can play game, down side it is a hall and both left and right sides become a bedroom. There is no separate wall or hall inside the ger, all family members can do own things without disturbing each other and without conflict and anger. So, children grow learning by living that they understand issues from the central point and solve issues with an agreement. Later on, they become very successful leaders. What I want to say? If family members hold each other closely, you can success at work. If you cannot find a space in your family or if you cannot sets up warm family environment, it would directly impacts to the working performance. Given this, children must understand the importance of the family and own space inside the family. So this is my family concept. I fully listen my sons' problems and success at the school, even their love issues. My husband and me try to solve family issues together. If I am busy, my husband cook, pick up children from school and do shopping. When, my husband busy, I do everything by myself, without any complaints. Of course as a family, we do have misunderstandings and small fights, but we both believe that this is just exam of life. This family environment supports us to succeed at work.
