    Salute to troops

Cpl. David and Spec. Ana Rios my Angels from Above!

This is a story about two Army Airborne Soldiers from very different worlds who met after a practice jump, fell in love, married, and now about to be parents. But the story doesn't end there, it's only beginning.
Ana Vega Rios, is my daughter who on a whim was supposed to join the Navy but the Army recruiter got to her first, lol. Ana was raised in Midland, Texas where as a teenager said she wanted to travel the world and help all those who couldn't help themselves. Through Airborne training at Fort Benning, Ga, she was only one of 6 women out of 12 to complete training. She became a local hero with an entire page dedicated to her story in the Midland paper. Of course she will always be my hero! After training she was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC where she met her husband David Rios.
David, a Puerto Rican, had a rough life raised by a single mom he often had to support the family of three. As Ana would tell it, he never complained and said in fact it was his duty just as he said when he received deployment orders to Afghanistan in April 2011. He served proudly and returned home unharmed in April 2012.
Ana, lonely and missing her husband and with her family in Texas, kept busy by taking classes toward a degree in Sociology. She will graduate in May this year just before their baby boy will arrive in June.
Since his return home, David has also taking classes and has become a Squad Leader. He is a member of a car club who orgainized a toy drive for a local orphanage last Christmas which was a huge success.
I am very proud of my daughter Ana and her husband David Rios, they have made the most out of their military careers. They have changed my outlook on life as well as many others and continue to do so. Ana has taught me" to dance like nobody is watching!"

ARMY AIRBORNE. . . ANGELS FROM ABOVE!

Proud to say my daughter wears armyboots!
