Success Story
Hi my name is Donesha Bolden & I am an educator for Atlanta Public Schools. Over a year ago I decided that it was time for me to take control of my health & change my lifestyle for the better. I lost an uncle to a heart attack, my grandmother to cancer, my 35 year old cousin found out she had breast cancer & my 36 year old cousin was found dead by her teenagers on their way to school & the autopsy later revealed that she died from hypertension. My sister has high blood pressure along with several of my cousins & aunts. My grandfather lost his batter with cancer a few years ago as well. I am raising my now 10 year old nephew & I came to the conclusion that in order to watch him grow up I had to make a change with my health. One of my female cousins had the gastric bypass to assist her with weight loss but I didn't want to go that route. I had been working out with my trainer for over a year and only saw a small amount of results because I wasn't consistent or dedicated to changing. October 2011 my cousin introduced me to Insanity & my trainer started educating me on nutrition. I had lost 30 pounds within 60 days and was excited about meeting my goal of 160 soon. I started out at 215 pounds with a goal of 160 & my trainer Tissilli had a goal of her own for me which was 150 pounds. Last year I was featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution for my weight loss & that gave me the push I needed to keep making this lifestyle change. As of today I have lost 62 pounds all while working, raising my nephew & working on my PhD in education. My lifetime goal is to inspire that person that doesn't think it can be done through hard work & dedication. There is nothing special about me and I don't have any secrets to share except for the fact that I get up everyday & work my butt of bc I'm expecting results! I have changed the things that I allow to go into my body & that has allowed my abdominal area to improve. I complete cardio 5 days a week at 5am before I go educate my babies & it gives me energy that I never thought I would have! I strength train with my trainer IFBB Pro Tissilli Rogers two days a week & she keeps me on track with my goals and how I can not only meet but succeed them. My new passion is running and I hope to run in a marathon this summer. I can honestly say I LOVE working out & I love encouraging others though my Facebook & Instagram. It's a pleasure to see people write me & say that I inspired them to make that healthy change! I figure this is just the beginning & I'm ready for the things to come. I hope my story inspires someone & encourages them to stay on track! Donesha Bolden www.TissFit.com http://m.ajc.com/news/lifes
