    Comet Pan-STARRS over New Jersey

Comet PanSTARRS was visible from New Jersey USA today, Wednesday 13 March 2013.

The comet is very low in the west and difficult to see with naked eye. I used a Canon DSLR with a telephoto lens and tripod to get the photo.

Looks out of focus but the comet is in focus, but 'fuzzy' due to the nature of comets.

Comets are mostly ice, with rocks and dust, and as they near the Sun the ice melts, and the comet leaves a trail of debris, which is lit by the Sun.
