    Comet and Crescent Moon

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Pricem36 had his camera set up on a tripod at a lookout on top of Mount Sequoyah on March 12 at 8 p.m. The comet was not visible to the naked eye, and it was barely visible with binoculars, Price says. Many people on the lookout with Price were unable to see the comet, so Price showed them some of his photos. “It was very gratifying to shoot and capture several photographs of the comet,” he says. “I was able to share a few views with them and to see them get excited about it was pretty cool.”

    The comet PanSTARRS was just barely visible along with the waxing crescent moon over Fayetteville, Arkansas Tuesday evening, March 12th.

    I shot this photo from Mount Sequouyah which overlooks Fayetteville. I had my Nikon D7000 mounted on a tripod and shot several 5-15 second exposures in order to capture the comet.
