    Comet Pan-STARRS

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     CoulterPine was shocked to find out that his camera actually captured Comet Pan-STARRS. He and his partner could not see it with the naked nor with binoculars from downtown San Diego, so they were surprised to see it in the pictures when they returned home.
    - PM91, CNN iReport producer

We could not see the comet naked eye nor through binoculars but the crescent moon was beautiful. This timed exposure occurred while a jet crossed the field of view. We were surprised to see the comet faintly appear in this picture. This pictures was taken near downtown San Diego looking west toward the Naval Hospital .
