Catholics: Your views on new pope

    More from MartiLuna

Papa Francesco! I love the name

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     MartiLuna, a Catholic from Italy, said she was pleased when the new pope was revealed. 'I was actually glad about it because I didn’t want another Italian pope or a European one. A South American is perfect because it’s high time that a developing country has their time in the church,' she said. As for her hopes for the pope’s priorities, she hopes he keeps it simple, reminding people of 'a simple message, which is to love each other and not care about what religion we are or what we believe in.' Catholics: What do you think of the new pope? Share your views here.

I followed the election with my best friend Vanessa (atheist), live from the CNN. We were both excited.

I am really happy with the election of the new Pope. Francisco, I lay my hope into your hands.
