Northern lights over Reykjavik , Iceland this evening

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Parts of the northern hemisphere have enjoyed spectacular views of the northern lights, or aurora borealis, over the past few days, and Iceland was one of the best vantage points for the show, as can be seen in iReporter ander's beautiful images. He drove out of the capital, Reykjavik, to get the best shots. "They were all over the sky, I kept moving the car to get more pictures," he said. "We see them regularly but they were quite spectacular last night -- a busload of tourists came and they certainly got their money's worth." The reason for the stunning display? A phenomenon known as a coronal mass ejection from the sun caused a geomagnetic storm, about which you can read more on NASA's website.
