    Northern Lights over Snæfellsnes Iceland

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Iceland resident stefaningvar shot these beautiful images of the northern lights, or aurora borealis, around the Snæfellsjökull glacier near his home village of Ólafsvík. The glacier, on top of an ancient volcano, is famous for appearing in Jules Verne's seminal science fiction novel "A Journey To The Centre of the Earth". "It's always a big 'wow' but last night was overwhelming," he said. "[There was] so much activity and the night sky was totally electrifying with aurora everywhere."
    - sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer

Went on a mission last evening to catch the beautiful aurora in the night sky, drove around snaefells glacier national park.
