Travel photo of the day
We arrived at Muir Woods at 11:45am. The sun had just peaked over the surrounding hills and was shining down through the very tops of the trees. The night before it had been unseasonably cold and there was a great deal of fog in the air. When the sun broke through the treetops, the fog warmed and it began to rise, giving us a spectacular view.
For at least 30 minutes we were treated to the ground fog moving vertically as the sun moved higher in the sky. As it rose we could see the trees and bushes begin to move with the warmer air being replaced by surrounding cooler air. It was a beautiful sight to watch the sky that was ever changing move in a direction that looked like it was streaming to the sun. We were very fortunate to have arrived in the nick of time for this marvelous motion in Nature.
