    Ota Ika-I love ya!


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RomaniaScene says her best travel this so far is 'Ota 'ika, which is a Polynesian dish that is made with fresh, raw fish that is marinated in lemon juice for several hours before it is smothered in a rich coconut milk and mixed with an array of veggies. She had this dish when she was traveling through Tongatapu, Tonga, in September 2012.

    'At first I was skeptical since I'd never eaten anything but sushi. But I was completely won over by the lovely taste and texture,' she said. She adored the dish so much, she even learned how to make it.

    'But it will never be the same without the local fish and coconuts along with the Tongan company and atmosphere of course.'

    It's the Tongan name for their special marinated fish salad-a truly delicious combination of coconut milk-drenched fish that's been  "cooked" for several hours with fresh lemon juice then dressed with hints of sweet basil, ripe tomato, crispy red and yellow peppers and a tiny bit of onion, all of which brings out the ultra-fresh flavor of ocean fish that can only be gotten from the tropical waters of the South Pacific. Ifo! (Delicious!)
