    Don't Even Think About It

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     jeffok714 says when Thanksgiving rolled around back in 2009, he and his son decided to hightail it out of Palm Harbor, Florida, and travel to Florence, Italy. It was there that he says his son, Ian, had one of the best cups of hot chocolate he has ever tried. They were at a little cafe called Rivoire, which he explains has been around since the late 1800s and is famously known for its chocolate. 'It has become somewhat of a tourist trap, but the hot chocolate is well worth braving the crowds. It's so thick and rich that it coats your spoon,' he said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

My son, Ian, is a self-confessed chocoholic. Not milk chocolate like many kids his age, but rather dark chocolate. Its just one of his odd traits that makes him a little different, but lovable.

During a trip to Florence Italy, a tour guide mentioned the amazing hot chocolate served at the Rivorie Cafe in the Piazza della Signoria. Ian was overly excited and insisted that we check it out. I have a major disdain for "touristy" locations and usually try to avoid them all together. Ian, on the other hand, was quite insistent that we go.

Reaching the entrance required fighting through throngs of tourists. Actually locating a space at the counter was only achieved by my son's single-minded quest for hot chocolate. We all huddled around the small space while trying to order in broken Italian. Given that the majority of people seemed to be ordering hot chocolate, I'm not sure if we really communicated with the waiter or he just brought it by default. Whatever the reason, both Ian and my daughter were happy.

As I enjoyed the elation on my son's face, I snapped this image while asking if I might try a sip. From his expression, you can probably guess the answer.
