CNN PRODUCER NOTE Chad says he was in a meeting on March 20 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, with his back turned away from the windows when suddenly he heard what sounded like a loud bomb. 'The whole building shook,' he said. The shaking was immediately followed by a loud, screeching metal sound. 'It was the kind of sound metal makes when it's bent to its breaking point,' he added. 'It was actually the boom of a crane sitting on the deck of the barge that struck the bridge,’ he explained. Once the crane hit the bridge, chunks of concrete from the bridge railing started to fall onto the barge. He says there was ultimately no major structural damage to the bridge, but the incident did cut water and traffic off to the island.Note: This video contains some strong language that may not be suitable for all.
