Spring Is Here
This first day of spring had me taking a walk in my backyard. With my handy camera I took these pictures of the flowers and fruit blossoms on the trees. The orange tree has the sweetest smelling blossoms you could ever imagine. The avocado tree, even though I still have hundreds of avocados still on the tree, is already blossoming for another crop.
The Lilac's are in full bloom and the aroma is breathtaking, these do not last very long though. The red bogenvilla (sp) will bloom for many months, all through summer and beyond. The orange poppies hanging around the fence are always there, they never go away.
The only tree not blooming yet is the butterfly plant, it will have many beautiful purple flowers that will attract butterflies all summer long. I have a lemon tree but it's full of bees right now so I decided to stay away from it.
So, even though today is the first day of spring as you can see, spring already sprung a few weeks ago here.
The last 2 pictures are of the Orange Blossoms and the Avocado tree blooming buds.
