I write this letter to both the people of North Korea, but also to the Leader Kim Jong Un.

To the people of North Korea

First I want to assure you, the people of North Korea, that Americans are not your enemy. We have no wish to support hate of any kind towards you or your country. Our culture by its very nature is to help people. We enrich our own culture by embracing yours and others. This is why all cultures, religions and people are welcome in our country.

To the leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un

Sir, I wish to offer myself as an ambassador of the United States People to you. I wish to speak to you and I ask you only to open your mind if only for a moment while you read or hear these comments to consider them as “possible”. Imagine for a moment, that we are friends and not enemies. That we do not seek to harm your country, and that given a choice we would like to help your country and its people. Imagine for a moment, that all the money spent on the defense of a nation, for which we have no intention of attacking could be spent on enriching your own country and helping your people. Imagine for a moment, that Korea could be whole again, one nation, strong, independent and prosperous. Imagine the nations of this world coming together to help your country rather than harming it with sanctions or worse. Now realize that all of this isn’t fantasy. It could very well be reality. When two people, groups or even nations are nose to nose, neither afraid of the other and ready to fight, the one who lays down his sword first and screams at the top of his voice “NO MORE HATE” isn’t the weak one, he is the wise one. You have the chance to be that leader. Your country is in your hands, SHOCK THE WORLD and be the LEADER that your country so desperately needs. Leave a legacy that hundreds of years from now will be taught to school children around the world as an example of a LEADER who had the courage and the wisdom to do the right thing. The leader who dismantled the DMZ and made your country whole again. We the people of the United States and the world are watching and ready to help.. All you have to do is lay down the sword, and show the world you will accept it. SHOCK THE WORLD, do what they don’t expect.. Be the LEADER… DO THE RIGHT THING.

I would love to come to your country and talk with you in person, or invite you to mine. I would love to see the beauty your country offers, or give you a tour and show you the beauty of ours. I would love to come back and talk to the US and world media and tell them all about it… I am not a politician, spy, or affiliated with any government agency. I am merely an average American Citizen, who is just tired of the HATE that infests our world. Someone has to be the first to Say “NO MORE HATE” and I offer myself to be the one who stands side by side with you in support of that goal. In return I can promise you we the American people will not allow our leaders to continue a policy which harms your country more and more each day. It is against our very nature as Americans to do so. I know, America has a reputation of being the bad one… we have the most wars, what appears to be the most hate. I will not try to deny that we ourselves have some learning to do. But in our defense I will say that almost every American child is taught at an early age that the way you deal with a bully is to punch him as hard as you can right in the nose. And we have been nose to nose with many countries over the years who wouldn’t listen to reason, who wanted to dominate, who wanted to hate, and well that didn’t work out so well… for anyone… Well sir, here we find ourselves, once again nose to nose… Either someone has to back down or there are going to be some bloody noses… DO THE RIGHT THING… Be the bigger man, show not weakness but rather wisdom and be our friend and not our enemy. I promise you I will tell every American via our media of your leadership and I promise that we the American people will force change towards your country by our government because of your actions

I can understand why trust in my proposal is going to be a real problem for you. All I can say to that is, at some point someone has to trust or eventually we are going to all destroy our world. It takes just one man, or in this case us two men, to show the world that trust can be reborn, that mistakes from the past can be used as tools of learning in the future. I ask that purely on faith, that you extend a hand of trust, you will find mine there to meet it..

You are welcome in my home any time friend. My wife will cook for you and my children are sure to both amuse and annoy you just like family. My sword was put down years ago… Be the LEADER your country deserves.. Lay yours besides mine, and just maybe we can get other countries to do the same.. Just maybe we can leave a legacy that the world will remember forever.. Just maybe a world dominated by peace and cooperation can be a reality and not just a vision in the minds of an average American, and the new LEADER of a country.
