Holi-Hai !!!! The Indian Festival of Colours

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Indian expat AlamSingh captures the vibrant colors of the Indian community in Melbourne, Australia, as they celebrate the festival of colors known as Holi. In addition to its religious significance, the festival commemorates the beginning of spring, heralding the vibrant colors of nature as winter recedes into the past. "It is probably one of the most exhilarating festivals in existence," he said. "During this event, participants hold a bonfire, throw colored powder at each other and celebrate wildly. You are not a part of the festivities until you are soaked in color!"
    - sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer

The Indian Festive Season kickstarted with Holi - "The festival of Colours" - is undoubtedly the most fun-filled and boisterous of Hindu festival.

It is an occasion that brings in unadulterated joy and mirth, fun and play, music and dance, and, of course, lots of bright colours!

Holi celebrations began in Melbourne at Bundoora Park. There were some great food stalls and some stunning dance performances for Local Talent groups. People let loose with colours and music.
