What the late 1960s really looked like

    More from Niena

    New Year's Eve of 1968

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Niena shares this picture of her father at a New Year's Eve party in Palompon, Leyte, Philippines. Her dad, 18 years old at the time, danced with one of the partygoers he met at the event. She says the 1960s were so simple yet so elegant. "It's the make-up that I was so impressed at," she says. "Women of the 60's were so natural."
    - PM91, CNN iReport producer

If my mother was a fashionista, so was my father. This is one of the great memories that my father had in the late 60's. Well, the girl he's dancing with, is just one of the party goers who he met at the ball, which is classically and locally known for Visayans as "baile".

This took place at our hometown on December 31, 1967, 8 years before I was born and few years before he met my mother.
