    Blue Angels Grounded?

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     GejJones says he has seen the famous Blue Angels fly in Pensacola, Florida, a number of times. The photographs he included in this iReport are from his visit last spring in 2012. He drove from Orange Beach, Alabama to Florida to see the Blue Angels fly. He says the atmosphere was electric. 'The first time I watched the Blue Angels fly I was like a little kid waiting for Santa Claus. I was very excited. That same excitement has been with me each and every time since,' he said. He says he believes the sequester will drastically reduce the number of air shows across the United States, but he does not know for sure what will happen because of tightening budgets. He hopes that the Blue Angels continue to fly so that others can experience the show.

Everywhere you look you see headlines about sequestration.

We’ll have to wait and see if sequestration grounds the Blue Angels but it was announced last night by a local TV station that this week would be the last opportunity for the public to watch the Blue Angels practice in Pensacola, Florida.

The Blue Angels practice is an amazing air show. It draws thousands of local and vacationing visitors. After the practice, usually on Wednesday, the Angels meet the public in the Naval Air Museum. They sign autographs and pose with fans for pictures. It’s a terrific opportunity for the public, young and old alike, to get up close and personal with the Blue Angels.

I took over 1000 photos. These pilots were visible to the naked eye as they passed the viewing area. The one I especially like shows the plane inverted and four other aircraft in the distance.  Truth, I was just luck to get the four planes in the distance.  I was concentrating on the inverted plane.  Watching the show is exciting and educational. I really hope that the practices will continue!
