    A Positive Journey

Graham Nicholls, aka The Positive Journey King on LinkedIn, is looking for people to tell the world at large about their own positive journey. So much was done at the paralympics in London in 2012, to demonstrate the achievements of those with multiple disabilities, but Graham is more particularly interested in the stories behind those achievements. With this in mind, he has created a web site at www.apositivejourney.com where he is going to collect and publish stories from around the world of how people have overcome personal obstacles and challenges in life to get to where they are today.

Their stories will be told in many formats - video, poetry, essays, art, photography, podcasts - it is the choice of the person submitting the story as to what format they use. Graham is also using his EU connections from Plymouth & District Mind, for each partner country to obtain funding to recruit 12 disadvantaged and/or disabled people to get them to interview a local celebrity in their country, to tell the story about how even those with "star" status, also have had their personal challenges to overcome.

The purpose of the web site is to promote the stories of the lesser well known, to highlight their achievements, in the face of amazing challenges in life, so as to act as inspiration for others to follow their own positive journey.

Graham Nicholls, CEO of Plymouth SEO dot Net and Make A Dream Publishing Ltd, is asking others to lead by example and give hope to others. Hope is one of the founding principles of recovery in physical and mental health - the others being control and opportunity.

The project will give control over the story to the story-teller and also the opportunity for them to learn new skills when they make their stories public and give hope to others.

Contact details are on the web site if anyone wants to know more, or participate in some way.
