    S. Korea amps up emergency preparedness

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     taytey221 says subway stations in Seoul have been outfitted with an emergency equipment display case, including instructions on how to wear a gas mask. 'It's the norm,' she says, adding that there has been an increase in equipment as well as other kinds of cabinets. 'I've noticed the increase for about three weeks now, since rhetoric had really been starting to heat up from North Korea. I think it's good the city is preparing just in case, especially since in the past I wondered what one little display case in each station was going to do when hundreds or thousands of people are underground. Now I see that if they feel the need be, they stock the subways more.'
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

Over the past few weeks South Korea has stepped up its emergency preparedness, significantly increasing the amount of emergency gas masks and equipment in the Seoul underground subway stations. These stations are designed to be used as bomb shelters in the event of an attack from North Korea.
