CNN PRODUCER NOTE madashl says while traveling through Brazil on November 2012 he enjoyed a Barreado at the restaurant Armazem Romanus in southern Brazil. Barreado is a traditional Sunday dinner favorite in the South American country. He says one of the main courses of the Barreado is a beef dish that is slow cooked over low heat for 20 hours in a sealed clay pot. The dish is then served with several sides like rice, manioc, plantains, mangos and gravy. 'The beef is the best part. Due to the slow cooking, it has a rich flavor and was so tender,' he said. Before feasting on the meal, he says he wanted to document it with a series of photographs. 'I travel frequently and on my travels often take photos of the more elaborate meals that I enjoy along the way,' he explained.
