    Dole Pineapple Fields, Haleiwa

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Kalalau123 says these beautiful pineapple fields cover the area from Haleiwa in north Oahu down to Pearl City and Pearl Harbor, the site of the Japanese attack in WWII. He says this photo commemorates the Americans who survived. This image was featured as CNN's Travel Photo of the Day for August 7, 2013.
    - alexislai, CNN iReport producer

These are the Dole pineapple fields south of Haleiwa, Oahu. Excellent fruit and incredibly fertile volcanic soil that lends itself to this unique crop.
    Have you been?
Frozen pineapple yogurt is exquisite. From the Honolulu airport this field is about half an hour away.
The Japanese fighters flew over this area before they destroyed Pearl Harbor.
