Cherry blossoms reach peak bloom in Washington DC
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a spring celebration in Washington, D.C., commemorating the March 27, 1912, gift of 3,000 Japanese cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo City to the city of Washington.
This year, peak bloom was from April 8-11. During this time I setoff on an early morning and late evening shoot. Although it was difficult waking up at 3:30am and getting home after midnight, it was well worth it.
