Police officers pay their respects on MIT campus

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Boof04, a graduate student at MIT, lives next to the police station. He woke up and saw MIT police officers lining Vassar Street to pay their respects to the police officer who was killed last night. He shot this photo out his window on the 11th floor.

He and his brother and a friend went to the Boston Marathon Monday but left a couple hours before the explosions. All students have been advised to stay in their residences.

'It's really tragic what happened … I'm from Canada and it's just crazy. When I was in Canada, I heard all the reports of campus shootings and all these crazy things that had happened in the U.S. It's surreal being right in the center of what's happening now.'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

7:15am MIT. Dozens of police officers were lined up on Vassar street, right outside the MIT police building on campus, to pay their respects to the MIT police officer who was killed last night.
