The Backstreet Boys Celebrate 20 Years

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     donnaclare, 50, attended the Backstreet Boys fan celebration Saturday in Hollywood with her daughter, who 'grew up on the Backstreet Boys' in the 90s. 'The most interesting thing was when they talked about their kids. They seemed so soft and caring,' she said.
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

The Backstreet Boys are celebrating their 20th anniversary, which started with a fan celebration at the Fonda Theatre yesterday. They are receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, and then they are off to start a tour in China followed by the US.

The young adults were out in full force for the starting lineup at the fan celebration event at the Fonda Theatre. I was there because my daughter grew up on the Backstreet Boys and so I also fell in love with them at that time. The Boys still look and sound great. The fan celebration included a great mix of BSB music, followed by the Boys being introduced for an onstage chit/chat session in which they talked about their past experiences as related to their music.

It was interesting to hear the stories behind their songs in an intimate setting. There were moments where they would break into a cappalla singing, which was brilliant. They then previewed some songs from their upcoming album, showed ten minutes of their documentary, and then followed it with a Q&A session in which they answered a lot of questions from the audience.

This was a nice event, especially for those of us who enjoyed and continue to enjoy the music of the Backstreet Boys.
