The birds of the Bloedel Conservatory

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     speedy01 visited the Vancouver Bloedel Conservatory on April 25. He says it is a very popular place for tourists. He photographed the birds in the Queen Elizabeth Garden. He says the most interesting bird he photographed is the guinea turaco. 'It's the green bird with red circles around the eyes, very secretive and gorgeous,' he said. 'You are considered lucky if you can spot him as he likes to hide, a secretive bird for sure!' Photo #4 was featured as CNN's Travel Photo of the Day for March 7, 2014.

The Bloedel Conservatory is a very popular attraction in Vancouver, it houses rare tropical plants as well as over 100 free flying birds of different species. I decided to have a look, and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of birds as well as plants, here are some samples of the beautiful creatures that call the “Dome” their home, enjoy.
