    Open Dam, Helps Prevent Flooding

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DaElmersBack went to see several dams being opened to relieve flooding on the Menominee River at the Big Quinnesec Hydraulic Falls Dam yesterday. Four of the seven dams were opened, which you can see in his video. DaElmersBack hasn’t personally been affected by the flooding in the Midwest, but he is worried about some of his friends. 'We've been watching the water come towards us, lucky that we actually live on higher ground. We're a little worried for a few of our friends whom live below a dam on this river,' he said.
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

The Big Quinnesec Hydraulic Falls Dam along the Menominee River dividing WI & MI had 4 of their 7 gates open today. It isn't very often they open this one, but due to the snow melt rains and flooding to the north & west, many dams are being opened.
