    Your 'Aha' weight-loss moments

    Changing my life

I was big all my life, about around 200 lbs. I went up and down my entire youth and never could keep it off. I had gallbladder surgery when I was 20 and I did not change my diet, from there over the next few years I gained and gained, and I didn't notice much because I did not see myself as big, I never noticed how big I was getting. After I moved to oregon at age 26, I went to the doctor up there, the scale said I weighed 310 lbs, I about cried. I had never been that big in my life. I decided then was time to do something, so I cut down soda and fast food, just by doing that I lost around 17 lbs. I joined weight watchers three months later, I was doing the meetings for 7 months before I moved back to the midwest. In that 7 months I lost 70 lbs. I could not believe the change already, looked back at old photos and could now see how big I was. Even in the midst of this weight loss I decided to quit smoking. After moving I did weight watchers online, but eventually canceled and have continued doing it on my own by the books and computer/ phone apps. I am still continuing today as I am about 30 lbs from my goal. I weigh myself every tuesday morning and I exercise 4 nights a week at a local gym. When I weighed in last week I was at 169 lbs! From 310, I cannot believe I did this myself. I have lost 141 lbs. I feel so much more amazing, and I can do stuff I could not before. When I first started I could not even walk around the block, now I can walk miles. It has changed my life!
